Ingredients

  • spirit

    A barrel-aged American whiskey distilled mostly from corn. Sweet, oaky, with notes of vanilla and caramel.

  • liqueur

    Italian-style fortified, aromatized wine. Rich, herbal, lightly sweet.

  • Simple Syrup
  • other

    White and yolk, for traditional flips.

Method

  1. Dry-shake all 20 seconds (vigorously).

  2. Add ice and shake another 12 seconds.

  3. Double-strain into a coupe.

  4. Grate fresh nutmeg over the foam.

Garnish

  • grated — Nutmeg

About this drink

Old-school flip — whole egg gives it richness. Heavy on grated nutmeg.
