Ingredients

  • spirit

    Whisky distilled in Scotland, often peated. Earthy, smoky, complex.

  • fruit

    Always fresh-squeezed. Tart and aromatic — bottled juice does not compare.

  • syrup

    Honey thinned with warm water (typically 3:1) so it mixes properly.

  • syrup

    Fresh ginger steeped in simple syrup.

  • spirit

    Whisky distilled in Scotland, often peated. Earthy, smoky, complex.

Method

  1. Combine blended Scotch, lemon, honey, ginger in shaker with ice.

  2. Shake hard 12 seconds.

  3. Strain into rocks glass over a large cube.

  4. Float a small pour of Islay Scotch on top.
