Apple brandy's warm cousin.

Ingredients

  • spirit

    Brandy distilled from apples. Calvados or American applejack.

  • fruit

    Always fresh-squeezed. Tart and aromatic — bottled juice does not compare.

  • syrup

    Honey thinned with warm water (typically 3:1) so it mixes properly.

    Boiling or near-boiling water.

Method

  1. Combine apple brandy, lemon, honey in a mug.

  2. Top with hot water; stir.

  3. Garnish with lemon wheel and cinnamon stick.
