Ingredients

  • spirit

    Whisky distilled in Scotland, often peated. Earthy, smoky, complex.

  • liqueur

    Italian-style fortified, aromatized wine. Rich, herbal, lightly sweet.

  • bitters

    The classic gentian-based aromatic bitters. A few dashes deepen everything.

Method

  1. Stir Scotch, vermouth, bitters with ice 25 seconds.

  2. Strain into a chilled coupe.

  3. Drop in a cherry.

  • Maraschino Cherry
