Ingredients

  • spirit

    Unaged tequila distilled from blue agave. Bright, vegetal, peppery.

  • fruit

    Tart, bitter-sweet citrus juice. Beautiful with tequila and gin.

  • fruit

    Always fresh-squeezed. Sharper than lemon, essential to tiki and tequila drinks.

  • syrup

    Agave nectar thinned 1:1 with water.

  • mixer

    Plain carbonated water. Lengthens and lifts a drink without adding flavor.

Method

  1. Salt half the rim of a highball glass.

  2. Combine tequila, grapefruit, lime, and agave in shaker with ice.

  3. Strain into the highball over fresh ice. Top with soda.

  4. Garnish with grapefruit slice or peel.
