Ingredients

  • spirit

    Aged rum with deep molasses, toffee, and dried fruit notes.

  • syrup

    Made from raw cane sugar. Richer and more molasses-forward than simple syrup.

    Unsalted, room-temperature butter pat.

    Whole cinnamon stick.

  • other

    Boiling or near-boiling water.

Method

  1. Add rum, syrup, and butter to a warmed mug.

  2. Top with hot water; stir to melt butter.

  3. Drop in a cinnamon stick.

  4. Grate nutmeg over the top.
